Kahoot

Kahoot is such an easy assessment tool to use in your classroom.  You can either spend just a few minutes creating your own quiz, or you can search through the huge library of already created quizzes and find one to implement in your class.

Step 1:  Create an account at getkahoot.com
Step 2:  Go to getkahoot.com and either create a new quiz or find an existing one in the library.

When ready to play in class:
Step 1:  On your laptop, open your account and project kahoot onto the screen.
Step 2:  For each kid playing, give them an iPad or iPod (they can share and/or work in groups)
Step 3:  On your laptop, launch your kahoot.  It will generate a key that kids will use to log in.
Step 4:  Kids will go to kahoot.it (using safari or web browser) and type in the number key that is projected on the screen.  It then prompts them to enter their name.
Step 5:  You will be able to tell if all kids are logged in, as it tells you the number connected on the screen.  Once everyone is ready to go, click START...and you're playing!!

We used it today for an inferencing review.  It keeps score after each question and the kids get really competitive! They didn't want to stop to go to lunch :)

Tip:  Have a small reward or prize for the winner :)  It definitely adds to the competitive nature of the game!
