Google Tips....

Here are some cool google tips for ya!

Weather info:
Type in "Weather" and the city you're interested in,
and press enter. Google will give you the weather
for the next 8 days.  You can pull up more than one
location and compare/contrast the weather
information.  Great tool to use when we have
crazy weather in Texas!

Calculator:
Type in "Calculator" and press enter.  Have
an instant calculator available for your use.

Dictionary:
Type in "define" and the word which you
are looking for a definition.  This is helpful
in my classroom when the student dictionary
doesn't have some of the words we are
trying to find!

Chatterpix

Have you tried chatterpix in your classroom? If the answer is no,  I challenge you to try it this week! Your kids will absolutely love it :)

Chatterpix is an app that makes anything talk...you, books, friends, pets, etc.  You just simply take a photograph, download it to the app, draw a line to make a mouth, and then record your (or someone's) voice.  Use it for spelling word practice, book reports, fluency practice, etc.  There are so many ways to use this in your classroom!!

Here's a short video to show just how quick and easy it is to use:

Have fun!! And let me know how it goes in your classroom!!

Vocaroo

I've attached a short video (2:42) that will explain how to use the website vocaroo.com to make voice recordings and then create a qr code for student access.  You can easily record information, such as questions and answers from an assignment, or directions for an independent activity. Kids will then use an ipad/ipod to scan the code and listen to the recorded information.

I used it last night to create qr codes for one of our class assignments.  It took about five minutes and is very user friendly :)  If you have questions about what it could be used for, or how to create the codes...please give me a call or stop by my classroom!  And if you use it, please let me know....I'd love to see what you create!!
